Subject: RE: Never Cry Wolf Rescue and Adoption
Thanks for your email. While I understand that you feel strong affection for the animals taken in by Never Cry wolf, the issues raised have nothing to do with allowing such animals to have appropriate care.
Never Cry Wolf is operating a business in a residential neighborhood in Sacramento County. In order to do so, Never Cry Wolf requires at least a conditional use permit, a business license, and an exotic animal permit. As far as I am aware, it has no use permit, no business license, and its exotic animal permit will expire on June 30.
The animal permit cannot be renewed unless and until the above and any other outstanding matters are addressed. Businesses are only allowed to operate in residential neighborhoods under very limited circumstances, and it is questionable whether an operation of this kind is appropriate in such a location. To operate without appropriate permits and licenses is a violation of the Sacramento County zoning code.
I am also informed that Sacramento County has placed no animals with Never Cry Wolf for at least the last two years.
I hope the above clarifies this matter.
